2-Year Work Permit Approved For International Students In UK After Graduation

Note: To successfully apply for this scholarship, ensure you read all instructions on this page.

The British government in a new immigration route, announces the re-introduction of a 2-year work visa for international students studying in the UK. This comes after the then home secretary Theresa may, in 2011 had it restricted to a period of four months. This means that, those with student visa will be permitted to stay in the UK for two years after graduation to seek jobs that meet their relevant criteria before having to convert to another visa or leaving the country.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the new immigration route for international students was part of making Britain “open to the brightest and best from across the globe.” who could contribute to the UK after being educated there.

The government said students will need to have successfully completed a degree from a trusted UK university or higher education provider with a track record of upholding immigration checks. The new post-study work visa will come into effect for students starting courses at undergraduate level or above in 2020, and is open to graduates in any subject and for jobs in any sector.
