2017 Leiden University Masters In Astronomy Scholarships

J.H. Oort and NOVA Scholarships is been offered by the Astronomy department in Leiden University. This scholarships is provided to International students who intends pursuing a masters program in Astronomy at Leiden University.

The scholarships are for one year, but will be renewed during the second year on a successful completion of the first year. Applicants will receive an allowance of up to € 11,000 per year for living cost.

Eligible Countries: ALL

Eligibility:

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • be International students.
  • have a BSc degree (or its equivalent) in astronomy or physics.
  • have received an offer of place to study at Leiden University.
  • be of outstanding academic merit
  • be able to demonstrate financial needs.

How To Apply:

Applicants who are interested in this scholarship should apply for the MSc program in astronomy through the online application system.

After applying through the online application system, applicants should send a brief statement by email to masters-at-strw.leidenuniv.nl..

The statement should include full contact information and it should motivate why the candidate satisfies the two conditions of :

  • Outstanding academic merit and
  • Need for financial support.

Application Deadline

The scholarship application deadlines are as follows:

Oort Scholarship only: October 15, 2016 (For February 2017 Intake)

Oort and Nova Scholarships: February 1, 2017 (For September 2017 Intake)
