This is a three-year National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Global Health Palliative Care (GHAP) Training Fellowship for an African candidate currently resident in Africa. It will enable a talented clinical or non-clinical African individual to complete substantial research project related to palliative care and rehabilitation. This is part of the ongoing GHAP-expanding access project in Uganda, South Africa and Zimbabwe funded by NIHR.

The King’s College London will award the successfully selected candidates a fellowship stipend and full international fees coverage.

Eligibility:

  • The applicants must be living in Africa.
  • The applicants must have excellent research-related computing skills.
  • The applicants must the ability to grasp new information and learn new skills quickly and a commitment to high-quality research and care delivery.
  • The applicants must focus on three workstreams in Uganda, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, respectively.
  • The applicants must have a minimum Upper Second-Class degree in health or social sciences, medicine, nursing, psychology, palliative care, or similar.
  • The applicants must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
    • CAE/CPE – 191
    • IELTS – 7.0
    • TOEFL IBT – 100
    • PTE – 75
    • ISE – Level III (ISEIII)
