2017 AIMS Postdoctoral Fellowship In Data Science For African Scholars – South Africa

African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) invites applications from African students who wants to pursue a Postdoctoral fellowship in data science.

This scholarship program is worth R200 – R240k per annum, it covers the provision of a laptop, coverage of all cost associated with the use of HPC resources, and a conference travel allowance of R 30,000 per annum.

Eligible Countries: African Countries. Preference will be given to applicants from SADC member states.

Eligibility: To be eligible for this fellowship, applicants must:

  • Be Africans
  • Be fluent in English
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Have the ability to tutor postgraduate students successfully.

How To Apply: The following are required when applying:

  • A covering letter motivating the application
  • A comprehensive CV stating research plans in the above or related areas
  • Two reference letters from academics familiar with your work
  • Statement on citizenship and whether a South African work permit is currently being held
  • Other practical information such as earliest date of commencement.
