Since October 2010, Mr. Ovia has invested over 100 Million Naira in the program to support 1500 beneficiaries and counting.

In establishing the Jim Ovia Foundation Scholarship, Mr. Ovia hoped to create a network of future leaders within Nigeria who can compete globally with their peers, bring new ideas, creativity and are committed to improving the lives and circumstances of people in their respective communities.

Eligibility: To be eligible for the Jim Ovia Foundation Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of Nigeria
  • Be currently or potentially enrolled in an accredited tertiary institution in Nigeria.
  • Have demonstrated academic excellence and leadership prowess
  • Be passionate about contributing to the society
  • Scholarships are awarded on the basis of personal intellectual ability, leadership capability and a desire to contribute to society at large to improve the lives of others.

  • Please note that a certificate of origin or birth certificate will not be accepted as a valid form of ID.
  • The only exception will be for minors below the age of 18 years who are unable to apply for a government ID.
  • In this case, a birth certificate will be accepted in lieu of a government ID for such minors.
  • Over time it is expected that the Jim Ovia Scholarship beneficiaries will become leaders in helping to address challenges related to health, technology, and finance, all areas in which the foundation is deeply engaged.

  • There are no fees required to submit a Jim Ovia Foundation Scholarship application fee
  • Your application will not be reviewed until all required documents are submitted.
  • Applicants may track their status online by logging into their online MUSTE account.
  • Applicants should also watch for any email messages from the Jim Ovia Foundation regarding their application and its processing.
  • Applicants who submit False or Forged documents will be blacklisted and unable to apply for future awards.
  • Shortlisted applicants will be notified by email. Applicants should be alerted to these messages. Be sure to add both [email protected] and [email protected] to your safe sender’s list.
  • Ensure all details are correct and all documents ready before submitting your form. Kindly note that you will not be able to edit any submitted form.
  • Submitting a wrong document automatically disqualifies the applicant.
  • Providing any forged document or false information will lead to the applicant being blacklisted from applying in the future

Required Documents: You will be submitting the following while applying for the 2023 Jim Ovia Foundation Scholarship;

  • Completed application form (Personal Details)
  • Valid Government-issued ID Card
  • An official original letter (not photocopied) letter from your school/Head of Department stating the following:
    • Your full name
    • Course Title
    • Department of Study
    • CGPA
    • Gender
    • Matriculation number
  • Newly matriculated who have not yet received a matriculation number or school ID must provide a provisional admission letter to their institution of study.
  • A valid student ID from your host institution (University/College)
  • A clear passport photograph
  • Original WAEC/NECO result
  • Original JAMB result
