Fully Funded MEXT Scholarship at Hokkaido University, Japan

The MEXT scholarship: IGP special quota. 3-year scholarships for 5 doctoral students and 2-year scholarships for 3 master’s students are available for international students during their study at Hokkaido University. A fully funded scholarship under Japan’s MEXT (Ministry of Education) for international students to pursue a Master’s in Biosystems Science at Hokkaido University. Part of the International Graduate Program (IGP) Special Quota for the October 2026 intake.

Eligibility: 

• Hold (or will hold) a bachelor’s degree by October 2026
• Are under 35 years old as of April 1, 2026
• Demonstrate academic and research excellence
• Are proficient in English
• Are medically fit
